• What’s a proverb (not necessarily from the Bible) your family said when you were a kid? In other words, what’s a short saying your family lived by?
• What do you think of the image of Proverbs vs. Ecclesiastes with Job as an example of someone caught in the middle working these perspectives out?
• Besides the subjects of poverty and parenting, what are some other areas where irresponsible reading of Proverbs might lead to incorrect conclusions about oneself or others?
• What would it look like to cut yourself and others some slack when interpreting and applying Proverbs?
